June Real Estate Overview based on IBR Stats
Based on the Quarterly Report that the Ithaca Board of Realtors recently released, here is my basic overview of the current market in Ithaca.
Overall, sales are up, days on the market are up and prices are down. As we come closer to the end of the busy selling season, we are seeing more price reductions and sellers and buyers are negotiating lower prices. In some markets, such as the Northeast and Fall Creek, we have experienced multiple offers and some properties are even selling for over asking price. Buyers are more demanding than ever before – expecting move in condition, making preparation and home staging ever more popular!
